Xfce desktop on Ubuntu Gutsy
Installed xubuntu which is another desktop environment for Ubuntu called Xfce.
HowTo:
- Type or copy and paste and run sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop in the console.
- Hit Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (this will log you out of your session so save what ever work you have open.) and choose the Kfce session and log back on.

KDE Desktop on Ubuntu Gutsy
I have installed the KDE desktop environment on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon by simply opening up my console and typing in the sudo aptitude install kde command. After available through Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and choosing KDE as login session.
