How to: Windows Vista like panel on Linux Ubuntu

- Right click on your panel and select ‘Properties’. Select the ‘Background’ tab pick ‘Solid color’.
- The panel should now be transparent as in Vista. You can control the degree of the transparency too by switching the ‘Style’ back and forth.
- Now we go back to the the ‘General’ tab and check off ‘Expand’ that when checked makes the width of the panel 100%. Unchecked should your panel now be simply wide enough to cover the content, as well as be centered positioned on your screen.
- Under the ‘General’ tab there is also height regulation. The size of the height on the panel on the image is set to 60.

Else to know is that you can choose to position the panel on which ever side you want on your desktop and this is controlled with ‘Orientation’. ‘Show hide buttons’ also has it’s own function. Try and find your perfect Vista panel.
To add paths/icons to the panel you just simply right click on the panel and select ‘+ Add to panel’.
Through right clicking on a panel and select ‘New panel’ you can create a panel from scratch.
Icons on the panel are simply moved to another position by right click and select ‘Move’.

If your plans are to install Wine and Wine-Doors it could be of use to know that if you run the current release of Wine-Doors to this date (Wine-Doors 0.11) off from http://www.wine-doors.org/wordpress/?page_id=3 it will install Wine for you in the same go.

When Wine is not installed on the computer the Status show that in this case 2 packages are required and looking at the Details it reads that Wine is one of the two and it is stated that it (Wine) is to be installed.
