My first Linux experience.
It has been about just precisely 2 months since I for the first time got my hands on Linux. I say got my hands on because I did not switch from Windows (Yes, ex Windows user) to Linux myself but was shipped a computer with Linux preinstalled from the United States (Yes, obviously I do not reside in the US). This idiot self-nicknamed Geek Girl thought she had the switch on the back of the box correctly positioned for the power supply on this (nameless) continent. Not so long story short -I had it repaired and logged on stunned by the beauty of Fedora.
Linux has been real easy to understand, simple to learn despite confusion and disorientation at first. I was lucky to have a friend to introduce me to Linux. After that I pretty much been toying around with it, learning as I go.
Which after too much toying became the reason I switched to Ubuntu. After all- I did not know what I was doing and not how to undo what I did (whatever I did).
Two weeks back (to date) I installed Ubuntu with a full disk partion (a CD with Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn came with the package).
Discovered people was writing about their Ubuntu experiences and sharing knowledge in so called ‘Ubuntu blogs’ which helps a noobie like me. I have a favorites folder for ‘Ubuntu Blogs’.
To me Linux is: A great experience. Anything you want.
Edit:
On Planet Ubuntu you find writer submitted Ubuntu Blogs.
